‭Moses:‬‭God‬‭called‬‭him‬‭from‬‭the‬‭burning‬‭bush;‬‭Moses‬‭is‬‭an‬‭example‬‭of‬‭both‬‭intercessory‬ ‭prayer‬‭and‬‭contemplative‬‭prayer‬ ‭-‬ ‭David:‬‭after‬‭God’s‬‭heart,‬‭he‬‭is‬‭the‬‭shepherd‬‭who‬‭prays‬‭for‬‭his‬‭people;‬‭his‬‭prayer‬‭is‬‭of‬ ‭repentance‬‭and‬‭trust‬ ‭-‬ ‭Elijah‬‭:‬‭He‬‭believes‬‭in‬‭the‬‭word‬‭of‬‭God,‬‭trusts,‬‭and‬‭urgently‬‭pleads‬‭to‬‭God‬ ‭-‬ J‭ esus‬‭:‬‭Jesus‬‭learned‬‭how‬‭to‬‭pray‬‭from‬‭his‬‭Jewish‬‭parents,‬‭but‬‭he‬‭always‬‭had‬‭the‬‭prayer‬‭to‬ ‭God‬‭His‬‭Father‬‭in‬‭His‬‭heart-‬‭the‬‭filial‬‭prayer‬‭is‬‭lived‬‭out‬‭by‬‭Him‬ ‭-‬ ‭Mary:‬‭Her‬‭example‬‭is‬‭by‬‭her‬‭“fiat”-‬‭“let‬‭it‬‭be‬‭done‬‭unto‬‭me‬‭according‬‭to‬‭Thy‬‭word.”‬‭She‬ ‭was‬‭fully‬‭God’s,‬‭and‬‭she‬‭prayer‬‭and‬‭interceded‬‭for‬‭others.‬ ‭‬ ‭Images/Saints‬‭from‬‭tradition:‬ ‭-‬ ‭St.‬‭Teresa‬‭of‬‭Avila‬‭was‬‭the‬‭Saint‬‭who‬‭focused‬‭on‬‭contemplative‬‭prayer‬‭and‬‭wrote‬‭the‬ ‭book‬‭The‬‭Interior‬‭Castle.‬ ‭-‬ ‭St.‬‭Therese‬‭of‬‭Lisieux‬‭was‬‭the‬‭Saint‬‭who‬‭focused‬‭on‬‭the‬‭"little‬‭way"‬‭of‬‭spirituality;‬‭she‬ ‭was‬‭meek‬‭and‬‭humble‬‭in‬‭her‬‭prayer.‬
