Occupational Safety & Health Standards (OSHS) Duties of Employer – LTP – Supplement Rule 1005 – Duties of Employers, Workers and other Persons (1) Each employer covered by the provision of this standard shall: (a) Furnish his workers a place of employment free from hazardous conditions that are causing or likely to cause death, illness or physical harm to his workers; (b) give complete job safety instructions to his workers, especially to those entering the job THE FIRST TIME, including those relating to the familiarization with their work environment, hazards to which the workers are exposed to, and steps taken in case of emergency; (c) comply with the requirement of this Standards (OSHS – DOLE) (d) use only approved devised and equipment in his workplace QAB Safety Reviewer 8/29/2023 Page 17 Confidential Copyright © 2021. He shall report to his supervisor any work hazard that may be discovered in the workplace (3) Every worker shall make proper use of all safeguards and safety devices furnished in accordance with OSHS for his protection and that of others and shall follow all instructions given by the employer in compliance with OSHS (4) It shall be the duty of service providers/ contractors to comply with OSHS and all regulations issued by the employer and DOLE Secretary. Rule 1093.12 – Workers shall be thoroughly informed of the health hazards connected with their work and measures to be taken to protect themselves therefrom. Rule 1093.17 - The employer shall maintain accurate record of employee exposure to potentially toxic materials which are required to be measured or monitored. LTP Just Policy However, disciplinary action may be taken for any of the following circumstances: The information came from a source other than the involved person ,i.e., the person involved failed to report the incident/ occurrence within 24 hours, or The incident/ occurrence involves an illegal act, or The incident/ occurrence involves deliberate or willful (intentional) violation of established regulations or procedures Thus, if anyone committed an error or is involved in an error incident while performing aircraft maintenance -related task, he/she should report it to his/her supervisor.
