Choreographers often work closely with dancers to bring their artistic vision to life, expressing emotions, stories, or themes through movement. Energy: The quality of movement, including the force, flow, and dynamics used in dance. 3. Space: The area in which the dance occurs, including the direction, level, size, and pathways of movement. 4. Time: The rhythm, speed, and duration of the dance, including the use of tempo and timing  Sustained - Movements are performed in a smooth, constant, and regulated manner with no distinct start or finish.  Percussive - Movements that are violent or acute using mostly patterns of foot movement with a distinct start and conclusion.  Vibratory - A restless effect is created by a quicker variant of shaking gestures (Minton, 2007).  Swinging - Motion in this category follows a curved or arched pattern.  Suspended - Gestures seem to be frozen  Collapsing - Motions that allow the gradual or abrupt sinking to the floor.
