CVSTODES SYLVARVM CVSTODE S SY LVA RV M Licensure Examination for Foresters Consolidated Reviewer CVSTODES SYLVARVM: Licensure Examination for Foresters | Consolidated Reviewer v1.1 Electronically Published 2014 by ORIOLVSTM This book is made available for the purpose of one’s preparation to successfully take the board examination. All rights are unrestricted, with the exemption of commercialization and business. Any part of this book may be reproduced or utilized in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopying, printing, recording, or by any information storage or retrieval systems to recall and enhance learning on Forestry in the Philippines. This book is freely given subject to the condition that it shall not, by way of trade or otherwise, be lent, rented, sold, or otherwise circulated with direct or indirect involvement of goods and/or services as exchange for this manuscript. Monetary collections including donations, are strongly discouraged. Published in the Philippines for continuous environmental vigilance, this book is for you all Disclaimer This book is designed to provide conjoined, brief and selected information that are up-to- date. However, Forestry is extremely complex and change on a regular basis. Reviewees also have personal needs that may not be addressed in a book providing an overview of complex issues. The publisher is strongly recommending that you obtain personal educational materials to suffice your knowledge before you engage in this reviewer. The author and publisher expressly disclaim any liability or responsibility for any losses that may be sustained or are alleged to be sustained, directly or indirectly, by the use of the information in this book. Preface ORIOLVSTM believes at given quality yet free educational materials, forestry graduates in the Philippines have equal chances of passing and even topping the Foresters Licensure Examination. It’s been more than a century since the first Forestry school was established in University of the Philippines Los Baños; by utmost perseverance, the profession continues to flourish until now. This career is officially popularized by PD 385 as amended by PD 705, otherwise known as the Forestry Reform Code of the Philippines. It is now mandated that (a) the multiple uses of forest lands shall be oriented to the development and progress requirements of the country, the advancement of science and technology, and the public welfare; (b) land classification and survey shall be systematized and hastened; (c) the establishment of wood-processing plants shall be encouraged and rationalized; and (d) the protection, development and rehabilitation of forest lands shall be emphasized so as to ensure their continuity in productive condition. As this profession becomes competitive with other careers, so is its paradigm. Following the Ridge-to-Reef Concept, Forestry continues to expand its scope. Thus, many are becoming interested in this field. In this manner, this book is created. It aims to provide graduates and takers with an alternative material which is consolidated from previous materials. The author noticed the clearly outlined and relevant discussions delivered in a comprehensible language. In just a months, the author felt blessed because this piece of work may now be distributed to those who want to pursue the Forestry profession regardless of socio-economic deficiencies. Without any reviewers available on mainstream market and costly fees on review centres, the author is profoundly grateful to the students for seeing the benefits in continuously prescribing the this text. Their continued trust in the author’s work serves as the wellspring of inspiration for the author to outdo this for the greater good. Very favourable and heart-warming comments during the pre-production of this book justified the author’s confidence in retaining most of the discussions although some are amplified for deeper understanding. The author assumed that the student’s exposure to business is limited. Therefore, the style used is both simple and understandable. This book is divided into four sections patterned from the actual licensure examination, namely: Forest Ecosystems (FE), Forest Governance and Social Forestry (FGSF), Forest Utilization and Engineering (FUE) and Forest Production and Management (FPM) respectively. Review Questions are presented in a concise and comprehensible manner. At the end of the book, answer keys are provided for better understanding and assessment of topics that should be re-examined. The students have a lot of materials to work on. The problems are randomly arranged to further test their memory retention. It is expected that reviewees who gain 90% score in this book will likely pass or top the board exam.
