**ONLINE SEARCH AND ONLINE RESEARCH SKILLS** **Online Search** is the process of interactively searching for and retrieving requested information via a computer from databases that are online. **Online Research** methods are ways in which researchers can collect data via the internet. They are also referred to as Internet research, Internet science or iScience, or Web-based methods. **Web Browser** is an example of application software containing address bar that is developed to retrieve and view the information from web pages or HTML files present on the web servers. **Search Engine** is a kind of website through which users can search (through a search bar) the content available on the Internet. ![A logo with a circle and a letter Description automatically generated](media/image2.png) **Easier and Faster Google Searching Tips** 1. Use unique and specific terms. 2. Use the minus (-) operator to narrow search. Ex. Caterpillar -inc 3. Use quotation marks for exact phrases. 4. Don't use common words and punctuation. 5. Capitalization does not matter. Ex. Technology, technology, TECHNOLOGY (all are the same regardless of how the letters are written) 6.
