Obtaining routine measurements (such as vital signs, height and weight) Assisting with admissions, transfers and discharges Maintaining a safe and clean environment REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A NURSE ASSISTANT REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A NURSE ASSISTANT A person who wants to become a nurse assistant must complete a state-approved training course and pass the state’s certification examination. A nurse assistant must pass the state’s certification evaluation.
