Identify the meaning of communication and its nature. Demonstrate understanding of the nature and elements of oral communication in context by answering activities. Write a reflection about the importance of communication in their daily lives. Communication is derived from two Latin words communis which means “commonness” and communicare which means “to share”. This barrier may either be denotative or connotative. Syntax refers to grammar, structure or set of rules that govern how words are combined in meaningful phrases and sentences. Refers to physically disrupts communication. For example: Loud music at a party. Poorly structured or planned message can also be a barrier. Refers to certain attitudes that can also make communication difficult. Deafness or blindness can hinder effective communication and interfere with the reception of the message. Differences in culture may interfere with cross cultural understanding. Each culture has its own rules about proper behavior which affect verbal and non verbal communication.
