Communication Fundamentals Abdalrahman F. Ataalla Stage Two Computer Engineering Techniques Dept./ Almaarif University College Outline Introduction about communication Block Diagram of Communication System Elements of communication system What is Communication? communication is the process of establishing a connection or link between two points for information exchange. Block Diagram of Communication System Information source Input transducer Transmitter A transmitter is an electronic telecommunications device used for transmitting data. Transmitters (also known as radio transmitters) generate radio waves from an antenna and use them to send and receive data. FM, AM and PM Communication channel Receiver Destination Destination is the final stage which is used to convert an electrical message signal into its original form. For example, in radio broadcasting, the destination is a loudspeaker which works as a transducer i.e. converts the electrical signal in the form of original sound signal Homework What is the main purpose of input transducer block?. List the types of wireless communication?. What is the final stage of communication system?. References Benvenuto, N., Corvaja, R., Erseghe, T., & Laurenti, N. (2006).
