LESSON THREE WRITING THE RESULT IMRaD RESULT - This section presents what you have observed in the study (data) IMRaD RESULT - At this point, you are building your reader towards drawn conclusions, but you are not yet providing a full analysis. You’re simply showing what the data says. IMRaD RESULT - In a qualitative study the information to be reported is called ‘findings’. - While quantitative study is called ‘results’ IMRaD RESULT Kinds of presenting data 1. textual 2. tabular 3. graphical IMRaD RESULT - in Traditional research, this section can be found in Chapter 4. (Presentation, Analysis and Interpretation) PURPOSE RESULT - to tell the audience about the raw data or results of your experiment VERB TENSE PAST TENSE - Generally, the verb tense to be used in writing is simple past tense. LESSON THREE RESULT CONTENTS RESULT CONTENTS INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH - A short paragraph situated at the beginning of a chapter that lets the reader know about the sub contents of Result. RESULT CONTENTS TABULAR PRESENTATION - should be self explanatory - organize and compress data into standardized form -They facilitate the study and interpretation. RESULT CONTENTS TABULAR PRESENTATION Most researchers use tables in their presentation of data. This is because (1) researchers need to give little explanation only since data in tables are arranged and grouped systematically; RESULT CONTENTS TABULAR PRESENTATION (2) readers can comprehend and interpret information easily because they can see relationships of data at once, and RESULT CONTENTS TABULAR PRESENTATION (3) tables can present ideas that are understood even without reading the textual presentation. LESSON THREE PARTS OF A TABLE PARTS OF A TABLE TABLE NUMBER - in the research paper must be numbered using Arabic numerals. - It should be in bold and the 1st letter is capitalized - Tables must be numbered and continuously through the entire chapter. PARTS OF A TABLE TABLE TITLE - should have a clear, descriptive title, which functions as the “topic sentence” of the table. - It should be written in Bold and with Capital letter for each word excluding the articles - Placed at the center alignment of the page PARTS OF A TABLE COLUMN TITLE - Are the subheadings that describes the material below it. - The goal of these title headings is to simplify the table. - A good set of column titles will allow the reader to quickly grasp what the table is about. PARTS OF A TABLE TABLE BODY - This is the main area of the table where numerical or textual data is located. - Elements must be read from up to down or across. PARTS OF A TABLE TABLE NOTES - Also known as table description - They should describe the data shown in paragraph form - should be concise but comprehensive LESSON THREE WRITING THE RESULT
