## Characteristics / Features of wants: 1. **Wants are unlimited:** - Human wants are unlimited in number and there is no end to them. - When one want is satisfied then another arises. - Wants go on multiplying. - They are never completely satisfied. 2. **Wants are recurring (repetitive) in nature:** - Many human wants are recurring in nature, while some wants are occasional. - They keep on recurring after some period of time. - For example, the need for food and water is left after every few hours while some wants are durable goods like furniture, car etc. that are needed occasionally (i.e. after some period). 3. **Wants differ with age:** - Wants and their satisfaction are different according to the age. - They differ as per chronological age. - For example, toys for children, bike for youngsters/adult, books for old and retired people. - A student wants to go to school. - A grown up wants a job and a secured life. 4. **Wants differ with gender:** - Wants vary from person to person. - Men and women wants differ according to their needs. - For example, a girl wants to dance whereas a boy wants to play. - A gentleman wants shirts, pants, ties etc. whereas a lady wants sarees and salwar suits. 5. **Wants differ to preferences:** - Priorities are given by individuals according to habits, taste, and preferences.
