High expectations from self and others Symptoms of Burnout We use the CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy) model to understand Burnout 1-Physical Symptoms: Fatigue, headaches, gastrointestinal issues. 2. Emotional Symptoms: Irritability‫ العصبية‬, anxiety, depression. 3. Cognitive Symptoms: Difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, decreased motivation ‫ فقدان الشغف‬. 4. Behavioral Symptoms: Withdrawal from social interactions, decreased academic performance, substance use. Complication of Burnout Decreased Academic Performance: Lower grades and poor exam results. Mental Health Issues: Increased risk of anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Impaired Patient Care: Burnout can reduce empathy and professionalism, affecting patient interactions. Career Decisions: Students experiencing burnout may reconsider their career paths, leading to increased attrition rates in medical programs. Strategies for Prevention and Management 1-Self-Care Practices 1. Regular Exercise: Physical activity can reduce stress and improve mood. 2. Healthy Eating: A balanced diet supports overall health and energy levels. 3.
