If any of these cases arise, proper action and punishment will be implemented. In case a student has no internet access, they can just take a picture of the activity or requirement and send it to their teacher thru email. Class Requirements Every second MONDAY of the month will be the uploading of learning materials and modules. Students should take time to answer and study the learning materials. While last FRIDAY of the month will be the submission of the activities, quizzes and exams. Students should submit and pass the three main requirement for this course; journal entry/reflection, quizzes and examination. Journal Entry/ Reflection Paper: For the journal entry requirement, students should reflect and write the things they learned and realized for every topic that is given. There is no right or wrong answer in making a journal/ reflection paper but students should still reflect and inline their journals to the topic being discussed and not on the unnecessary things. Psychological Statistics Why do we need statistics in Psychology? It is with statistics that we are able to reliably make sense of the information we are observing or studying. IS NOT MATH IS THE COLLECTION, ORGANIZATION, DISPLAY AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA IN A SCIENTIFIC MANNER Importance of Statistics in Research use appropriate techniques in collecting data objectively interpret the information shown by data properly draw and arrive at conclusions add credibility to an argument Levels of Analysis Types of Statistical Analysis DESCRIPTIVE INFERENTIAL STATISTICS STATISTICS describes or gives a general used to draw inferences or picture or summary of the conclusions about the data, scores, or observations population ex: average score in a test, its ex: estimating the academic distribution performance of Filipino students based on a representative sample Try and Learn Identify the level of analysis in each example 1. Pie graph of the sexual orientations of 2nd year Psych students 2. Negative relationship between stress and quality of sleep 3. Age range of students taking Psych Stat 4. Approval rating of a politician 5. Mean height of Filipino women Reference Howell, D. C. (2010). Statistical methods for psychology. Belmont, CA: Thomson Wadsworth.
