American Heritage Dream Trip Behavior Rules The three main rules of the trip: 1. Be Respectful. 2. Be Responsible. 3. Be Ready to Learn. Carefully consider these three basic rules throughout the trip. A violation of these rules could remove you from the trip and send you home at your parents 'expense. General Rules: 1. Always be Respectful, Responsible, and Ready to Learn. 2. Represent Stallion/Bronco PRIDE at all times. 3. Your clothing must meet school dress code standards. Plan for the projected weather. 4. The Slotsy Tours jacket and lanyard must be worn at all times. 5. Be aware of all time schedules, what time to meet, and meeting locations. If in doubt of the time or place to meet, ask an adult. 6. Meet the group ON TIME (always a few minutes early is best). 7. Every student MUST have a watch or cell phone. You must be aware of the time. 8. Watch out for one another. If something happens to one person, it can affect the whole group. 9. Gossiping and rumors will not be tolerated… If there is an issue that cannot be resolved, speak to a chaperone. 10. Be considerate of your tour mates and all people around you. On the Airplane: 1. Students should have exemplary behavior on the flight. Student groups do not usually have a good reputation on airlines, but we’ll show them otherwise! 2. Interact in a positive and polite manner with the airline staff and other travelers. 3. Seat assignments are made by the airlines and are usually alphabetical. Many times our group will be split up amongst other passengers. You will stay in your assigned seat and will not be allowed to move. Be respectful to those around you. 4. When you board, find your seat as quickly as possible and store your belongings either under your seat (smaller carry-on items such as backpack/purse) or in the overhead compartment (larger carry-on items such as luggage). 5. You should remain seated at all times with your seatbelt fastened and do not block the aisles. 6. Try to keep from having to constantly get things down from the overhead storage bins. Get everything out that you will need for the flight prior to the plane taking off. 7. The flight attendant button is off limits. Do not press the button unless there’s an emergency. 8. Use appropriate voice volume. 9. When we exit the plane, grab all of your things, exit immediately, and find your chaperone group. You will not be able to return to the plane if you forget something, so make sure you have EVERYTHING before you exit. In the Hotel: 1. Girls are NEVER to be in a boy’s room and boys are NEVER to be in a girl’s room. This is an automatic “send home”. 2. You are not allowed to visit other rooms and no one should be in your room other than your roommates or chaperones. 3. You may not leave your room for any reason. If there are any problems, call your chaperone. 4. The phones in your hotel rooms are very expensive and are off limits unless you are calling a chaperone in another hotel room or answering a chaperone call. You may use your cell phone to call home while in your hotel room, unless instructed otherwise by your chaperones. 5. Do NOT open a door unless a chaperone knocks and you can verify their identity through the peep hole or by asking “who is it?” and awaiting their response to tell you to open the door. 6. No running, screaming, slamming room doors, loud talking/music/noises, especially late at night. Remember there are others in the hotels that aren’t a part of our group and they are probably sleeping, as you should be. 7. Play fighting, wrestling or other horseplay will not be tolerated in the hotel room - we don’t need anyone getting hurt because it will impact the entire group. 8. Leave the room in better condition than you found it. 9. Time in the hotel is for sleeping, not social time. Once we arrive at the hotel, you should be calling home, showering, getting in your pajamas, getting clothes out for the next day, getting ready for lights out, and going to sleep. On the Bus: 1. Our bus drivers are like family! We need to be respectful and take care of our drivers and the bus. 2. No food or drinks are allowed on the bus. Water bottles are acceptable. 3. Gum is absolutely prohibited while on the bus! 4. Stay in your seat at all times while the bus is moving and sit properly in your seat - your bottom should be on the seat and you should be facing forward at all times. 5. Girls will sit with girls and boys will sit with boys while on the bus. 6. Listen carefully and follow all directions. You will always be told what time to meet and where the bus will be located. Take note that the pick-up location is not always the same as the drop-off location. Take note of the bus number in case there are other buses in the same area. 7. No grooming is allowed while on the bus - take care of that in the hotel room in the morning. 8. If a chaperone, tour guide, or the bus driver are on the PA, you should be silent, you should be facing forward, electronics put away, and you are listening. 9. Be respectful of those around you - especially of someone who is sleeping or working on an assignment. 10. Students will not be allowed to use the bathroom on the bus - make sure you use it at each location. 11. Cell phones and iPads will not be used on the bus, unless told otherwise by chaperones. 12. Flash photography is not allowed on the bus - it can be blinding for the driver of the bus. 13. There should be no screaming, shouting, cackling, or whistling while on the bus - the bus driver needs to be able to hear and you need to hear any important announcements. This is for your own safety to make sure we get from one place to the next safely. 14. If there is a problem while on the bus, tell a chaperone immediately - do not hide anything. While In Line: 1. Always pay attention and keep moving the line forward. 2. Voices should be kept at a low volume. 3. No pushing, screaming, shoving, hand games, or other childish behavior will be allowed. We need to set an example and show the east coast how awesome BPSD students are. While Touring: 1. Have a partner with you AT ALL TIMES. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ALONE! 2. Keep up with the group. 3. When walking in public, stay to the right in a single file line or partner line (2 people side by side). 4. Pay attention to the tour guide or docent and be respectful! 5. Cell phones and iPads will not be used during educational touring or any time the group or individuals are in the process of learning unless told otherwise by chaperones. 6. Be quiet and respectful at our nation’s monuments, memorials, cemeteries and museums. 7. Dispose of litter properly. 8. Ignore panhandlers, beggars, etc. to the best of your ability. 9. Be on time (always a few minutes early is best). 10. Follow directions. 11. No gum! 12. HAVE FUN! Take it all in… At a Restaurant: 1. Please follow the directions from the tour guide and chaperones and wait your turn - there is no need to rush to be first. 2. Make sure you use the restroom and wash your hands before and after you eat. 3. Remain seated with your table, unless you are getting more food or going to the restroom with a buddy. 4. Do not leave the restaurant or food court unless directed by a chaperone. 5. Always clean-up after yourself and be respectful of the staff and restaurant. 6. Cell phone use will not be allowed during meals, unless told otherwise by chaperones. My child and I have read the above rules/guidelines. We understand that any violation of the rules will result in an immediate and appropriate consequence. We fully understand that this is our one and only warning. _______________________________ _______________________________ Printed Student Name Printed Parent Name _______________________________ _______________________________ Student Signature Parent Signature _______________________________ _______________________________ Student Cell Phone Number Parent Cell Phone Number
