# **Maranao Art** The Maranao *okir* is a popular motif in Maranao art. It is depicted as a fowl with colorful wings and feathered tail, holding a fish on its beak or talons. The *okir* is often decorated with scroll, leaf, and spiral motifs and is said to be a symbol of good fortune # Abaca Abaca belongs to the Banana family and its fiber has a natural luster with colors ranging from pure white to ivory and dark brown. Abaca is used in making slippers, ropes, twine and hammocks. ## Art Classifications ### Performing Arts Involves the use of an artist's body as a medium and requires movement from one place to another.
