  • Objective: Protect consumer interests and provide for effective administration and settlement of disputes
  • Main Features: Provides for the establishment of authorities for the settlement of consumer disputes, enhances the pecuniary jurisdiction of redressal agencies, and increases the minimum number of members in State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions. Also, allows consumers to file complaints electronically.

Chapter I: Preliminary

  • Short Title: Consumer Protection Act, 2019
