    What is Conscience?

    • Derived from Latin words meaning application of knowledge to individual.
    • The inner sense of what is right or wrong.

    • A sense of moral obligation.
    • A reasoned judgment about good or evil actions.
    • Not a rule, but approval of right conduct.

    Types of Conscience

    • Antecedent: Judgment of an action before it's performed.
    • Consequent: Evaluates an action already performed or omitted.
    • Certain: Passes judgment without fear of error.
    • Doubtful: Uncertainty about morality of an act.
    • Right: Presents good as good and evil as evil.
    • Erroneous: Mistaken judgment; judges good as evil or evil as good.
