Faults
- A fault is an invalid serve, hit, or block that results in a point for the opposing team.
- Types of faults:
- Serving fault: when the server fails to make a correct serve, such as hitting the ball out of bounds or into the net.
- Hitting fault: when a player hits the ball into the net, out of bounds, or commits a touching or catching fault.
- Blocking fault: when a blocker touches the net or reaches over the net to block the ball.
- Lift fault: when a player lifts or carries the ball instead of hitting it.
Errors
- An error is a mistake made by a player or team that results in a point for the opposing team.
- Types of errors:
