Islamic Teachings on Accountability
- A person's journey on the Day of Judgement will not end until they are questioned about four key aspects of their life.
- These questions concern:
- How they spent their lifespan.
- How they treated their body.
- How they utilized their knowledge.
- How they acquired and spent their wealth.
- Prophets and others are not subject to these specific inquiries, but they are still accountable.
Maxillary Central Incisor
- The maxillary central incisor is the widest tooth in the front of the mouth.
- The upper and lower central incisors are the only neighboring teeth in the mouth that touch on their mesial surfaces.
Tooth Restoration Examples
- Images show restorative dental work, resulting in repaired, or replaced, teeth.
- The images highlight before and after restorative dental procedures.
Tooth Numbering Systems
- There are various methods for numbering teeth, e.g., Universal, Palmer/Zsigmondy.
- Specific diagrams illustrate tooth numbering systems, different methods for labelling teeth and how teeth are organized.
Dental Development Stages
- Information on the timeline of tooth development.
- Critical stages in tooth development (calcification, eruption, root completion) with specific timeframes.
Aspects of Maxillary Central Incisors
- All teeth have five aspects, those being: Labial, Lingual, Mesial, Distal, Incisal
- These are different sides (of views) of the tooth.
Labial Surface of Maxillary Central Incisor
- The crown's outline is trapezoidal.
- The shorter sides are pointed towards the neck (cervix) of the tooth.
Mesial and Distal Outlines
- The mesial outline is slightly convex, with a curvature at the incisal-third. Mesioincisal angle is sharp.
- The distal outline is more convex, with the curvature at the incisal-third in a cervical direction. The distoincisal angle is rounded.
Incisal Outline and Root Outline
- The incisal outline is typically straight, perpendicular to the tooth's long axis.
- The root outline is cone-shaped, ending in a blunt apex.
Cervical Outline
- The cervical outline is convex, when viewed on the tooth's surface. Conversely, from the crown, the shape is concave.
Lingual Surface
- The lingual surface is the reverse of the labial surface
- The tooth converges or tapers lingually
- The dental arch is wider than the lingual counterpart
Elevations and Depressions of the Lingual Surface
- Elevations: Cingulum, mesial and distal marginal ridges, incisal ridge.
- Depressions: Lingual fossa; it is M-shaped.
Mesial Surface of Maxillary Central Incisor
- The outline is wedge-shaped or triangular, with the base at the cervix and the apex at the incisal ridge.
Mesial and Labial Outlines - Specific characteristics
- The mesial outline is convex, with a curvature at the cervix.
- The lingual outline has an initial convexity at the cervical 1/3, but the rest of it is concave (lingual fossa). It ends with slight convexity at the incisal ridge.
- The incisal ridge is aligned with the root apex.
Distal Surface - Characteristics
- The distal surface is the reverse of the mesial surface.
- The crown is slightly thicker at the incisal 1/3,
- The cervical line's curvature is less than on the mesial side.
Incisal Aspect - Characteristics
- The crown's dimensions are greater mesiodistally than labiolingually.
- The labial outline is flat and broader than the lingual outline.
- The incisal edge is near the tooth's center labiolingually.
- The fossa is lingual to the incisal edge, bordered by mesial and distal marginal ridges.
Pulp Cavity
- To study the pulp cavity, examine the tooth from longitudinal and cross-sectional perspectives.
Pulp Chamber/Root Canal
- Measurements of dimensions (Mesiodistal - wide incisally, and narrow cervically; Labiolingual - triangular, pointed incisally, wide cervically).
- Pulap horns present in the young tooth.
- Root canal is single, straight, tapering apically; oval cross-sectional shape.
