Trinity University of Asia

• Trinity University of Asia (TUA) is a Christian university in the Philippines, founded in 1963.
• The Protestant Episcopal Church in the United States of America (PECUSA) established TUA.
• TUA's mission is to prepare students for life by instilling Christian values, providing a quality learning environment, and promoting community development.
• TUA upholds honesty, integrity, excellence, teamwork, innovation, and social responsibility as its core values.
• TUA follows the "Five Marks of Mission" which include:
  • To proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God.
  • To teach, baptize and nurture new believers.
  • To respond to human needs by loving service.
  • To transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind, and pursue peace and reconciliation.

• TUA has two campuses located along E. Rodriguez, Sr. Avenue, covering over 9,000 sq.m. and an additional 13-hectare lot.
• TUA's campus also hosts National Episcopal institutions, including St. Luke’s Medical Center, the National Episcopal Cathedral of St. Mary and St. John, St. Andrew’s Theological Seminary, and the National Office of the Episcopal Church in the Philippines.

Episcopal Church in the Philippines (ECP)

• The ECP was established in 1898 as a Missionary district of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America during the Philippines' Spanish colonial period.
• The first Episcopal service was held in 1898 by an American chaplain.
• The initial focus of the ECP was in Manila, Luzon, and Mindanao.
• The ECP became a Missionary Diocese in 1965 and an autonomous Church Province of the Anglican Communion in 1990.

Philippine Independent Church (IFI)

• The IFI was established in 1902 as a protest against the Spanish clergy's control of the Roman Catholic Church.
• Cofounders include Isabelo de Los Reyes y Florentino and Fr. Gregorio Aglipay y Labayan.
• The IFI initially followed Roman Catholic worship forms but was influenced by Unitarianism.
• A schism developed in 1946 with a Unitarian faction leaving the church.
• The IFI adopted a new declaration of faith and articles of religion that were Trinitarian under Isabelo de los Reyes, Jr. in 1947.

TUA Campus Development

• The Trinity College Learning Center for Children (TLCC) was built with funds bequeathed by Miss Mary Niven Alston.
• The library building, Wayland S. Mandell Hall, was named after the first chairman of the Board of Trustees.
• Wayland Mandell Hall was constructed with grants from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), American schools and hospitals abroad, the Booth Ferris Foundation, and alumni donations.
• A three-storey Elementary School building was funded by donors, including the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA) and St. Margaret’s School in Tokyo.
• The two-storey Cabanban Memorial Hall houses the Computer Center for the High School and the Elementary School.
• The two-storey Trinitian Center for Community Development (TCCD) was made possible by donations from the government of Japan and Trinity supporters.

TUA Athletics and Recognition

• TUA joined the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) in 1985.
• TUA became affiliated with the Colleges and Universities Sports Association (CUSA) in 2001, winning several gold medals in various sports tournaments.
• In 1995, TUA was recognized by President Fidel V. Ramos as the “Friendliest School for the Disabled.”
• In 2002, the Zobel Foundation provided scholarship grants to members of the Disabled Enablement and Empowerment Program (DEEP).

TUA’s New Millennium Building Expansion

• The Health Sciences Center houses the College of Medical Technology, St.Luke’s College of Nursing, Health Sciences Library, and the Audio-Visual Room.
• The Ann Keim Barsam Hall houses the Graduate School, College of Business Administration, Research and Development Center, Audio-Visual Room, Conference Room, and the KOBE International University Research Room.
• The University House, University Chapel and Prayer Garden and the Student Center were recently completed.

TUA’s Accreditation and Status

• TUA achieved university status in 2006 after being granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
• TUA received Institutional Accreditation Status by The Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) in 2009.
• TUA earned Autonomous Status in 2009 from CHED.
• TUA received ISO certification from TÜV Rheinland in 2015.
