St. Johns County Fire Rescue Policy
- Establishes policy for special event operations
- Applies to all SJCFR members
Special Event Staffing
- Individuals, businesses, and associations requesting SJCFR personnel for special events should contact the SJCFR Fire Prevention Administrative Office Specialist
- Special event staffing levels determined by Operations Section Chief considering factors such as:
- Span of control
- Weather
- Time of day
- Duration of the event
- Characteristics of the crowd
- Past characteristics of similar events
- SJCFR personnel requested to work special events must:
- Complete Department crowd management training
- Complete annual familiarization training with specific venue (if required)
- Have required level of training or certification
- Be in good standing with the Department
- Be approved by the Operations Section Chief
Event Operations
- Each venue will have an Incident Action Plan (IAP) with general guidelines and communication procedures specific to the venue
- IAP created and distributed by senior officer assigned to the event or designated project manager
- Patient treatment conducted in accordance with SJCFR Medical Standard Operating Protocols (MSOP) as outlined by the SJCFR Medical Director
- All paperwork completed and verified by designated officer of the team assigned to the event or SJCFR event supervisor before leaving the venue
- Medical rooms, transport apparatus, and equipment cleaned, restocked, and secured after each event
St. Johns County Fire Rescue SOP Chapter 158 Aquatic Facilities Use
- Establishes Standard Operating Policy for training use of the St. Johns County-Solomon Calhoun Pool
- Applies to all Fire Rescue Personnel certified or establishing certification in Marine Rescue Operations
