    • Spring Fire Department prohibits consuming alcohol 8 hours immediately prior to reporting to duty or possessing or using alcohol while on duty or when performing fire department related job functions.
    • Drug and Alcohol Policy is for internal use only and does not enlarge a member’s legal duty or civil liability.
    • The policy should not be construed as creating a duty to act or a higher duty of care, with respect to third-party civil claims against members or the department.
    • Spring Fire Department conducts 10 panel tests and may order more extensive testing if warranted by circumstances.
