Systems of Working
- Trains working between stations must adhere to one of six systems: Absolute Block, Automatic Block, Following Trains, Pilot Guard, Train-staff and Ticket, or One Train Only.
- The Absolute Block and Automatic Block systems are mandatory for all railways, with the exception of those specifically sanctioned to use other systems under special instructions.
- The railway uses Automatic Block on specific double-line sections:
- Secunderabad Division: Lingampally - Secunderabad Junction - Moula-ali, Hussain Sagar Jn. - Hyderabad
- Hyderabad Division: Secunderabad Junction - Kacheguda - Falaknuma, Secunderabad Junction - Bolarum
- Vijayawada Division: Vijayawada Jn - Krishna Canal Jn.
- Automatic Block is also used on the third line section between Vijayawada Jn and Krishna Canal Jn.
- All other sections of this railway utilize the Absolute Block System.
- General rules applicable to signal and train operation extend to all systems of working, unless specified otherwise.
Systems of Working
- Trains operating between stations must use one of the following systems: Absolute Block, Automatic Block, Following Trains, Pilot Guard, Train-staff and Ticket, or One Train Only.
- The Absolute Block and Automatic Block are mandatory on all railways.
- Other systems are permissible on specific portions of a railway under special instructions subject to specific conditions for each system.
- The Automatic Block System is used on:
- Double Line:
- Secunderabad Division: Lingampally – Secunderabad Junction – Moula-ali; Hussain Sagar Jn.– Hyderabad.
- Hyderabad Division: Secunderabad Junction – Kacheguda – Falaknuma; Secunderabad Junction - Bolarum
- Vijayawada Division: Vijayawada Jn – Krishna Canal Jn.
- Single Line: Vijayawada Jn – Krishna Canal Jn. (3rd Line).
- Double Line:
- The Absolute Block System is used on all other sections of the railway.
- General rules for signals and trains apply to all systems unless exceptions are explicitly stated.
