Pilot Age Limitations

Hearing Requirements

Visual Test Requirements

• visual acuity tests must be conducted in an environment with a level of illumination that corresponds to ordinary office illumination (30-60cd/m2)

Experience, Requirements, and Validity

• PCAR 3: Approved Training Organization
• Apply at least 120 calendar days before the beginning of any proposed training
• The initial certificate is valid for 1 year, and the validity of a renewed certificate is 3 years
• Apply for renewal of its certificate within 30 days preceding the month its ATO certificate expires
• The ATO shall satisfy the Authority that there shall be on the staff:
  • Accountable Manager
  • Quality Manager
  • Head of Training
  • Chief Flight Instructor, as applicable
  • Chief Ground Instructor, as applicable
  • Adequate Number of Ground and Flight Instructors

Heavier-than-air Aircraft, Lighter-than-air Aircraft, Unmanned Free Balloons, and Registration Marks

• Majority of Letters: Number “1”
• Letters “M” and “W”
• RP-R, RP-X, RP-S, RP-U, and RP-G
• Width: 50 cm
• Height: Determined by the authority

PCAR 5: Airworthiness

• Classifications of Certificate of Airworthiness:
  • Standard Certificate of Airworthiness
  • Special Certificate of Airworthiness

PCAR 4: Aircraft Registration and Markings

• Registration Marks:
  • RP-C: 50 cm on wings; 30 cm on fuselage and vertical stabilizers
• Size of Marks:
  • Thickness: 1/6 of the Height
  • Spacing: 1/4 of the Width
  • Aircraft penetrating an ADIZ or DEWIZ shall display marks at least 30 cm high

PCAR 6: Approved Maintenance Organization

• AMO is effective until the last day on the 24th month if within the Philippines
• AMO is effective until the last day of the 12th month if outside of the Philippines
• Submission of renewal must not be later than 60 days before expiration

PCAR 8: Operations

• Prohibition on working within 8 hours after consuming alcohol
• Prohibition on working within 12 hours after Scuba diving
• Following unscheduled duty periods, the person performing maintenance functions for aircraft shall have a mandatory rest period of 10 hours
• The AMO shall relieve the person performing maintenance functions from all duties for 24 consecutive hours during any 7 consecutive day period

PCAR 9: Air Operator Certification and Administration

• Required Flight Experience of PIC Operation:
  • Each applicant shall make the application for an initial issue of an AOC at least 90 days before the date of intended operation
  • An AOC, or any portion of the AOC, issued by the Authority is effective for a period of 24 months or such lesser period as may be specified by CAAP
  • An operator shall make application for renewal of an AOC at least 30 days before the end of the existing period of validity

PCAR 10: Commercial Air Transport by Foreign Air Carriers within the Republic of the Philippines

• The expiry date of the Foreign Air Operator Certificate or 24 months from the date of issuance of the Validation Certificate, whichever comes first
• An Operator shall make application for the renewal of a Validation of Foreign Air Operator Certificate at least 30 days before the end of the existing period of validity
