Comply with the Law
- Nestlé must comply with food and beverage laws in all countries where it manufactures and sells products
- Must include labeling, packaging, water contaminants, and net content regulations
- If local laws are stricter than Nestlé’s own standards, follow the stricter local laws
- This includes Nestlé’s commitment to comply with Nestlé Corporate Business Principles and Nestlé Codes of Business Conduct
Quality Assurance and Product Safety
- Everywhere in the world, Nestlé represents a promise of high quality and safe products
- The Quality Policy summarizes the essential elements of this commitment, including:
- Commitment to developing, manufacturing, and providing trusted and preferred products and services
- Maintains high food safety standards in all countries of operation
- Continuously improves management systems to guarantee product quality and safety
- Inspires ownership of product quality and safety by all employees and third parties
Uncontrolled Trade
- When a non-Nestlé company sells Nestlé products in other markets, it must have Nestlé's permission
- If no permission is granted, the situation should be evaluated in the market’s Issue Round Table (IRT) and a business decision should be made
- If the company has permission from Nestlé, both parties must ensure the products comply with local law
- These permissions include contract alternatives such as:
- Import-export contract with a Nestlé market
- Contract with Nestrade or NITR
- Sales contract with a Nestlé market as a third-party distributor
Resolution for Uncontrolled Trade
- If a company doesn’t have permission, Nestlé may do one of the following:
- Inform the trader and agree on a solution
- Inform the authorities
- Ask Nestrade or NITR to import the products
- Escalate the issue to the Nestlé Zone or Corporate
