  • Hair must be neat, clean, well-trimmed, properly combed, and pulled-back or restrained.
  • The height and/or bulk of the hairstyle should not exceed 4 inches from the scalp, and the length should not go past the bottom of the shirt collar.
  • The firefighting hood must cover all hair on the member's head.
  • Sideburns should be maintained at a length and/or configuration that will not come into contact with the breathing apparatus face piece.
  • Hair may be dyed, tinted, or frosted in colors naturally occurring in human hair. Any stripes, spots, or color other than natural is prohibited.
  • Non-flammable hair restraints (rubber bands/barrettes) match hair color or are black or brown, with no ornamentation.
  • Natural styles are permitted within the limitations above.

Facial Hair

  • Mustaches may be worn, but should be neat, trimmed so the upper lip is exposed, and not extend more than ½” below the corners of the mouth.
