    • Charges in Brake Van: Dogs are charged at a rate of 'L+ 25%' with a minimum freight of Rs. 30 per dog. Minimum chargeable weight is 30 kg.
    • Charges in AC First Class: Minimum chargeable weight of the dog in AC First Class is 60 kg per dog.

    Un-booked Dogs with Passengers

    • AC First/First Class: Six times the 'L' scale charge for 60 kg per dog (minimum Rs. 50).
    • Other Classes: Six times the 'L' scale charge for 30 kg per dog (minimum Rs. 50). with passenger
    • Blind Passengers: Six times the 'L' scale charge for 30 kg per dog (minimum Rs. 50). alone in First Class

    Online Booking of Dogs and Cats

    • Online booking is allowed through IRCTC for both e-tickets and counter tickets.
    • Booking is allowed only after preparation of the first chart and before second preparation of the chart.
    • No refund of freight is allowed in case of train cancellation.
    • Passengers are notified the freight charge isn't refundable.
    • SMS are sent for online bookings and position is noted on the 2nd chart. Passengers must declare that their dog or cat is fit to travel and fully vaccinated. They are responsible for making sure other passengers are not inconvenienced.

    Booking of Small Animals/Birds (except Poultry)

    • Brake Van: Animals/birds must be in baskets/cages. Freight is calculated based on actual weight or dimensions (highest value).
    • Compartment Travel: Small animals/birds allowed in other classes (but not AC class). Kittens and puppies are an exception.
    • Unbooked Animals: For animals in basket, charges levied are 20 kg at six times the 'L' scale; minimum Rs. 50. Onward journey charges are double the 'L' scale for 20kg, minimum Rs 50. Loose animals : 40 kg at six times the 'L' scale, minimum Rs 50. Onward Journey : 30kg minimum, twice the 'L' scale, minimum Rs 50 .

    Booking of Live Poultry

    • Live poultry can only be booked in brake vans and must be in baskets or cages. Basket diameter must be 100cm and height 30cm, maximum 40kg per basket. Freight is calculated using the 'L' scale.

    Booking of Chicks

    • One-day-old chicks are allowed in brake vans.
    • They must be in corrugated cardboard boxes with minimum length of 60cm, max width 45cm, and minimum length 12-20cms. Max. chicks per container is 104. Transport period should not exceed 30 hours.
    • Freight will be calculated based on the highest of actual weight or dimension using the L scale.

    Booking of Sheep, Pigs, Goats, and Calves

    • Forwarding Note Com 627 F is required for booking.
    • Animals can only be transported in a brake van.
    • Minimum chargeable weight is 40kg per animal.
    • Freight is calculated based on the 'L' scale. Minimum charge is Rs. 30 per animal.
    • If found with passenger, six times the 'L' scale charge is levied up to the point of detection. Onward journey charges are 40kg for each animal, shifting to brake van.
