- TPD is authorized to make probable cause (PC) arrests for crimes that originated within the city, including murder, manslaughter, sexual battery, carjacking, and more.
Investigations and Arrests
- If prior notice is not possible due to fresh pursuit, TPD shall immediately notify the HCSO Shift Commander via countywide radio prior to entering the county.
- HCSO will notify TPD of the presence of deputies within the city, especially when working in covert capacity.
- Each agency retains control of and supervisory responsibility for its own employees.

- Search warrants originating in the city but needing to be served in the county shall be served by HCSO.
- For joint investigations, TPD must establish a joint investigation with appropriate specialty personnel at the onset of the investigation, and must be approved by an HCSO supervisor.
