Introduction to PowerPoint

PowerPoint is a presentation software used to create digital posters viewable on screens.
It is accessible on both Windows (via the "Start" button) and Mac (via the "Applications" folder).

Getting Started

Open PowerPoint by selecting "Microsoft PowerPoint" from your computer.
To create a new presentation, click on "Blank Presentation," allowing for design selection afterward.

Creating Your First Slide

The initial slide includes prompts "Click to add title" and "Click to add subtitle."
Save your work by selecting "File" followed by "Save As" to name your presentation.

Adding More Slides

New slides can be added by clicking "Home" and then "New Slide," which presents a blank slide.
Choose slide types from the pop-up menu; "Title and Content" is a common option.

Inserting Text and Pictures

Add text by clicking on designated areas—type your title and body information.
To insert images, navigate to "Insert" and select "Pictures," then choose an image from your computer.

Copying and Pasting Elements

Click to select the desired text or picture, then right-click to access the "Copy" option.
Paste onto another slide by right-clicking and selecting "Paste Option (Clipboard A)."

Slide Design and Transitions

Improve slide appearance by selecting templates under the "Design" tab.
Adjust color schemes through the "Variants" option within the "Design" tab.
Add transitions between slides by clicking “Transitions” and selecting preferred effects.

Adding Animation

To animate objects, select them, go to the "Animations" tab, and choose an animation effect like "Appear" or "Fade."
Preview animations by selecting "Slide Show" and viewing from the beginning.
