Hoffman Estates Fire Department Response Guidelines
- The purpose of the guidelines is to deploy qualified personnel, equipment, and resources to a stricken community requesting Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) and NIPAS E.S.T.TEMS Team assistance.
Receiving the Request
- On-duty USAR or NIPAS E.S.T.TEMS team members receive requests for mobilization through a personal paging system.
- Team members must immediately notify their supervisor when receiving a request.
Responding to the Incident
- The Shift Commander may request hire back personnel to replace responders if necessary.
- Responding personnel are allowed to use a department vehicle.
- Responders must adhere to Safety Operations Guideline – 004 Passenger and Driver Safety when using department vehicles.
