Non Safety Events

  • Non-Safety Events do not directly affect patient safety but are related to other concerns such as medication breakages/expiration, occupational injuries.

Technical/Medical Equipment Events

Management of Occupational Injuries

  • The Unit Manager must complete the Workman’s Competition Association forms.
  • PSM (Patient Safety Management) categorizes and closes the event.
  • PSM or the Unit Manager can send the event and AAR in PDF format to relevant authorities.

Pharmacy Events

  • Report events involving breakage, product failure, or expired medication.
  • Events involving Schedule 0, 1, 2, 3, & 4 medications:
    • Send the medicine to the pharmacy in a bag marked with the event reference number.
    • The pharmacy disposes and adjusts stock levels according to protocol.
  • Events involving Schedule 5 & 6 medications:
    • Record the event number and keep the physical evidence.
