Gender Disorder
- Sense of being male or female that corresponds to one's anatomical sex
- Affective Component of GID: gender dysphoria, discontent with designated sex, and desire to have the body of the other sex, regarded socially
- Gender Identity is established by age 2 or 3 years
- Sex ratio of children: 4 to 5 boys for each girl
Factors Influencing Gender Identity
- Testosterone can increase libido and aggressiveness in women
- Estrogen can decrease libido and aggressiveness in men
- Postnatal Life Events: masculinity, femininity, and gender identity influenced by interaction of children's temperament and parent's qualities and attitudes
Cross-Gender Identification and Gender Roles

- Gender Role: gender biased in household

Sexual Harassment

Types of Sexual Harassment
