  • Nonresidents, except migrant or seasonal farm workers, must obtain a Florida driver license within 30 days of:
    • Accepting employment in Florida
    • Engaging in a trade, profession, or occupation in Florida
    • Enrolling their children in Florida's public schools
  • The spouse or dependent child of a nonresident must also obtain a Florida driver license within 30 days before operating a motor vehicle in Florida

Exceptions

  • Members of the US Armed Forces on active duty in Florida, their spouses, or dependent children are not required to obtain a Florida driver license if they have:
    • A valid military identification card
    • A valid driver license or learner's permit issued by another state
