Firearms Training Simulator
- The Firearms Training Simulator is equipped with simulated pistols, shotguns, and OC spray.
- Recruits will participate in scenarios that test their decision-making skills, including:
- Determining whether to use an intermediate weapon or escalate to a firearm
- Deciding when to draw a firearm based on the threat presented
- Deciding when to fire a weapon or restrain from firing
- Using verbal commands or challenges
- Using cover in response to a scenario
- Avoiding reckless gunfire
Scenario Objectives
- The scenarios are designed to test each of the objectives listed above
- Scenarios are adjustable to emphasize strong and weak points
- Scenarios include:
- Known risk calls
- Unknown scenarios to create realistic surprises
- Scenarios with one or multiple subjects (good guys and bad guys)
- Scenarios that encourage recruits to prematurely drop their guard
