Fire Safety Manager Duties
- The fire safety manager assists the premises owner/occupier, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations.
- If fire safety measures don't comply with regulations, document the non-compliance and inform the owner/occupier.
- Record details of non-compliance, including when and how the fire safety manager informed the owner/occupier.
- Ensure compliance with any fire safety conditions attached to temporary change of use approvals.
- Inform the owner/occupier if a valid fire-certificate isn't available for buildings requiring a certificate.
Fire Safety Maintenance
- Supervise fire safety work maintenance.
- Ensure occupant load of any building part doesn't exceed capacity limits.
- Conduct daily checks for fire hazards and remove identified risks.
Emergency Response Plan
- Prepare and implement the premises' Emergency Response Plan (ERP), distributing it to occupants.
- Conduct fire drills at least twice yearly or as directed by the Commissioner.
- Ensure occupants understand the building's escape routes.
- Create fire safety guidebooks for occupants.
Additional Duties
- Train, coordinate, and supervise the Company Emergency Response Team on first aid, fire-fighting, and evacuation.
