Alarm Levels and Resources
Second Alarm
- Two (2) Pumpers, One (1) Aerial, One (1) Squad, One (1) RIT, One (1) District Chief, One (1) Platoon Chief, One (1) Command Vehicle, and One (1) Hazardous Materials Unit are dispatched.
- Platoon Chiefs not dispatched are notified.
Second Alarm Resources
- Up to 10 emergency vehicles consisting of Pumpers, Aerials, Rescues, and Squads.
- Up to a maximum of 14 emergency vehicles.
Third Alarm
- In addition to Second Alarm resources, Three (3) Pumpers, One (1) Aerial, One (1) District Chief, One (1) Incident Command Vehicle, One (1) Tower, One (1) Tower Support Pumper, One (1) Rehab Vehicle, One (1) High Volume Pumper, One (1) Super Tower, and One (1) Tower1 Support unit are dispatched.
- Division Commander, Senior Officer, Incident Commander, Hydro, Enbridge Gas, Health and Safety, On-Call Mechanic, Division Chief, Quality Assurance, Legal, and Engineering are notified.
- Canteen vehicle is included.
Third Alarm Resources
- Up to 15 emergency vehicles consisting of Pumpers, Aerials, Rescues, and Squads.
- Up to a maximum of 18 emergency vehicles.
Fourth Alarm
- In addition to Third Alarm resources, Three (3) Pumpers, One (1) Aerial, One (1) District Chief, One (1) Air Light, and One (1) Platoon Chief to TFS Communications Centre are dispatched.
- Fire Chief, Chief Medical Officer, Hydro Grid Supervisor, Deputy Chief Community Risk Reduction, and Public Information Officer are notified.
- Division Chief Mechanical, Fleet Services (if on-call mechanic deployed) is notified.
Fourth Alarm Resources
- Up to 19 emergency vehicles consisting of Pumpers, Aerials, Rescues, and Squads.
- Up to a maximum of 22 emergency vehicles.
Fifth Alarm
- In addition to Fourth Alarm resources, Three (3) Pumpers, One (1) Aerial, and Two (2) Squads are dispatched.
- One (1) District Chief is included.
Fifth Alarm Resources
- Up to 23 emergency vehicles consisting of Pumpers, Aerials, Rescues, and Squads.
- Up to a maximum of 28 emergency vehicles.
Sixth Alarm
- In addition to Fifth Alarm resources, Three (3) Pumpers, One (1) Aerial, and One (1) District Chief are dispatched.
Sixth Alarm Resources
- Up to 29 emergency vehicles consisting of Pumpers, Aerials, Rescues, and Squads.
- Up to a maximum of 32 emergency vehicles.
RIT Teams
- If a RIT Team is deployed at an emergency scene, an additional RIT Rescue is dispatched, and the alarm level is upgraded.
- The Incident Commander can request as many Rapid Intervention Teams (RITs) as deemed necessary.
