    Response Guidelines - Code 4

    • The purpose of this guideline is to provide standardized and predetermined responses to all incidents classified as Code 4 by Northwest Central Dispatch (NWCD).

    Policy

    • The policy of the Hoffman Estates Fire Department is to follow this guideline, with the flexibility to alter responses based on information from NWCD or to achieve a faster response based on location and/or status of fire department apparatus and personnel.

    Procedure for Code 4 Response

    • Upon requesting a Code 4 Response, all remaining in-service Hoffman Estates Fire Department apparatus will respond to the incident scene.
    • The response may be supplemented by Mutual Aid apparatus, if necessary, to total:
      • 4 Engines
      • 4 Ambulances
      • 1 Squad
      • 1 Tower
      • 4 Staff Chiefs
      • 1 Auto Aid Shift Commander
      • 1 Auto Aid apparatus for RIC
      • Hanover Township Emergency Management Agency

    Mutual Aid and Station Assignments

    • For Code 4 responses, Station 21, 23, and 24 will receive a Mutual Aid change of quarters Engine.
