    Purpose of the Guideline

    • To establish a procedure for requesting information and public records from the Fire Department

    Procedure for Requesting Information and Records

    • Records pertaining to Fire Department operations are available for inspection and copying at the Village Hall
    • Certain records are exempt from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act (exemptions listed in the Village Clerk's office)
    • Requests for information must be submitted on the Freedom of Information Request form, available at the Village Hall and Fire Department office
    • Each request will be complied with or denied within 5 business days after receipt
    • The 5-day time limit may be extended up to 10 business days under 5 ILCS 140 Section 3d
