Executive Order S-36-16
- Establishes the Mayor's Military Service Advisory Committee
- Purpose: To allow military service members and veterans, and their families, to provide input to the Mayor and City leadership on issues impacting them.
- Policy: The City of Omaha seeks input from stakeholders to improve policies and services for military personnel.
- Committee Selection: Members are appointed by the Mayor. The committee can recommend additional members representing a broad range of the military veteran community.
- Committee Structure: Committee members will elect a chair, vice-chair, and secretary. Meetings will occur at least quarterly. Minutes will be recorded and posted on the city website. Bylaws, rules and procedures will be established.
- Committee Oversight: The Mayor's Office will oversee and support the committee.
- Effective Date: The committee will become active upon the signing of the order, in accordance with the Omaha Home Rule Charter Section 3.17.
