- Pay Period: Miami-Dade County's 14-day payroll timeframe.
- Vacation (Primary/Secondary): Leave periods given for taking time off from work (primary given seniority, secondary following the processing of primary requests).
- Workweek: The standard weekly work schedule (e.g., 8 hours/5 days, 10 hours/4 days).
- Adequate Staffing: Supervisors must maintain sufficient employees to cover operations and emergency situations; typically 10% are allocated to be on leave. The 10% however, can be rounded up to the nearest whole number.
