Drug-Free Awareness Program/Controlled Substance and Alcohol Policy
- BSO commits to providing a safe environment for employees and the public, protecting property, and preventing harmful influences on safety or job performance.
- The policy aims to maintain a work environment free from the effects of alcohol, drugs, or other intoxicating substances.
Prohibited Acts
- Unlawful possession, use, purchase, manufacture, distribution, or dispensation of:
- Illegal controlled substances
- Alcoholic beverages
- Other intoxicants while on or off duty or conducting BSO business
Employee Responsibilities
- Notify Human Resources in writing of any criminal drug conviction in the workplace within 5 calendar days

Drug Test

- Mandatory-Testing Positions as defined by Florida State Statute, including:

- Performing life-threatening procedures

- Working as a safety inspector
- Working with children
- Working with detainees in the correctional system
- Working with confidential information or documents pertaining to criminal investigations
