Driver Delivery Procedure - Fleet Way
- Verify the site address on the Bill of Lading (BOL), Fleet Order, and the location you are at.
- Ensure tanks are clearly identified.
- Mark the diesel fill with a yellow cone, even if you are not delivering diesel.
- Stick the tanks for water and to ensure the load will fit.
- Take Veeder root readings before delivery.
- Connect to the Underground Storage Tank (UST) first, then to the trailer. Verify product markers on the trailer.
- Deliver diesel first, if you have diesel on board.
- Double-check all connections and walk the hose to ensure proper connections.
- Triple check key components of the delivery before delivery:
- Correct station
- Cones placed
- Properly connected
- Product correctly identified
- Ending stick readings should confirm delivered gallons equal loaded gallons.
- Take Veeder root readings after delivery.
- Report any maintenance items to dispatch:
- Fills improperly or poorly maintained
- Missing product tags
- Venting problems
- Any unusual conditions
- Staple Veeder root readings before and after delivery behind the BOL (mandatory).
- Report to station and Dispatch if your Veeder root readings before and after delivery do not match your stick readings.

- POT refers to the Product On Tank.
- The POT Breakdown provides a record of the amount of fuel delivered.
- The driver should record:
- Stick Before Inch: The level of the fuel in the tank before delivery (in inches).
- Water Inch Before: The level of water in the tank before delivery (in inches).
- Veeder Before Gallons: The fuel level before delivery as measured by the Veeder Root equipment (in gallons).
- Stick After Inch: The level of the fuel in the tank after delivery (in inches).
- Water Inch After Inch: The level of water in the tank after delivery (in inches).
- Veeder After Gallons: The fuel level after delivery as measured by the Veeder Root equipment (in gallons).
- The driver should also record:
- Product and Gallons Retained: The product and gallons of fuel retained at the delivery site.
- Address Where Retains Is Being Taken: The address where the retained fuel is being taken.
