- This review session does not cover pages 292.0-293.6 and 322.2-323.
- The review covers information presented in DHS after the second midterm.
- The final is on Monday, December 9th, from 4-6pm in Campbell Hall.
- The final is twice as long as a midterm.
- It includes 10 short answer questions and 12 multiple choice questions, skipping 2 short answer questions.
- The final counts as 40% of the grade.
Study Plan
- Review vocabulary from DHS.
- Review readings in DHS.
- Review charts on Canvas (contraception, STIs/STDs, anatomy).
- Review lists and studies presented in DHS or lecture.
- Review boxes in DHS.
Material on the Final
- Chapter 7 to page 200 and Chapter 16 will not be tested on the final.
- Material covered in lecture related to those chapters is still fair game.
- Approximately two-thirds of the final will cover the material from the two prior midterms. Focus on charts and important topics not covered on previous midterms.
- The Baldwins will not repeat questions from midterms.
- Approximately one-third of the final will cover material presented after the second midterm.
Chapter 2
- Erogenous zone: area where touch/stimulation causes/increases sexual arousal.
- Vulva: female external genital area.
- Mons: pad of fatty tissue covered in pubic hair, in front of pubic bone.
- Labia majora (outer): padded fatty tissue, hairy on the outside.
- Labia minora (inner): thin folds of hairless skin, erotically sensitive.
- Clitoris: complex organ with a highly sensitive glans, surrounded by the clitoral hood.
- Frenulum of the clitoris: fold of tissue attaching the underside of the clitoris to the labia minora.
- Corpus spongiosum: erectile tissue in clitoris, expands with blood during sexual arousal.
- Vestibule: area surrounded by the labia, contains Bartholin's glands.
- Bartholin's glands: small glands located at the back of the vestibule.

- Corpora cavernosa: erectile structures in clitoris, run backward and downward.
- Vestibular bulbs: erectile tissue surrounding vestibule.
- Smegma: pasty substance that collects.
- Hymen: membranous folds covering vaginal opening in newborn girls.
- Imperforated hymen: rare condition, structure completely closing vaginal opening.
- Urethra: passage for urine located in perineum.
- Vagina: collapsed tube that deepens with sexual arousal.
- Pelvic floor muscles (PC muscles): muscles around the vagina, contract during sex.
- Uterus: continuation of the reproductive tract beyond vagina.
- Vaginal opening (introitus) location relative to vestibule and cervix
- Cervix: part of vagina where cervix joins the vagina, 2 functions, supports fetal development separates the uterus from the pelvic cavity
- Oviducts (Fallopian tubes): pathways between the uterus and ovaries, where fertilization occurs; cilia move sperm
- Ovarian hormones: estrogens, progestins, androgens
- Ovaries: produce eggs and ovarian hormones.
