Aviation Legislation and Regulations

  • An approved 147 MTO can conduct aircraft maintenance licence exams under Part 147 of the CASR.

CASA's Relationship With Other Aviation Authorities

  • There is an agreement between the Australian government and the US government to promote aviation safety.
  • The agreement is pursuant to Article 4 of the Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement, dated 21 June 2005.
  • CASA and the FAA have similar aircraft certification systems, which regulate design approval, production approval, airworthiness certification, and continuing airworthiness.

CASA and CAANZ
