Flashcards

Branches of the Left Coronary Artery

The left coronary artery (LCA) divides into the circumflex artery (Cx) and the anterior interventricular artery (IVA).

Circumflex Artery (Cx)

The circumflex artery (Cx) runs along the left side of the heart and gives off a descending branch.

Anterior Interventricular Artery (IVA)

The anterior interventricular artery (IVA) travels down the front of the heart, supplying blood to the septum and apex.

Right Coronary Artery (RCA)

The right coronary artery (RCA) travels through the atrioventricular groove and supplies the posterior aspect of the heart.
