Assessment Classifications

• Assessment can be classroom-based or systems-based (national/international).
• Classroom-based uses formative and summative assessments by teachers.
• National Assessment is a large-scale examination given to learners as per DO. 55s. of 2016.
• In EPP/TLE Grades 4-10, classroom-based assessment happens.
• TVL learners can get a TESDA National Certification Assessment after Senior High School.

Assessment Component

• Assessment is the process to determine a learner's achievement of expected learning outcomes; this includes written, oral, and practical methods (TVET Glossary TVET Sector Support Program, GIZ, October 2019).
• Competency Assessment (TESDA): The process of gathering evidence and making judgments on competency (Implementing Guidelines on PTQCS).
• Competency-Based Assessment gathers and interprets evidence to judge a learner's achievement against required competencies (TVET Glossary TVET Sector Support Program, GIZ, October 2019).
