Postal Rates Calculation

• Postal rates depend on the weight, shape, size, and destination.
• Postal items categorized: Letter/Postcard, Large Envelope, Packet, and Parcel.
• Rates in the booklet reflect these categories.
• To calculate cost, determine rate category, and consult rates schedule.
• An Post rates reflect costs of processing items of different sizes and shapes.

Post Mail Sizes: Letter/Postcard

• No larger than C5 (holds A4 folded), max weight 100g.
• Minimum size: 90mm x 140mm (W x L).
• Maximum depth for PostAim Mail is 7mm.
• Larger items may be large envelope, packet, or is parcel.

Post Mail Sizes: Large Envelope

• Caters for flat items like A4 paper, max weight 500g.
• Heavier or larger items may be packet or parcel.
• Maximum Depth: 25mm
• Maximum Width: 300mm
• Maximum Length: 400mm

Post Mail Sizes: Packet

• Maximum weight of 2kg.
• Tube: Length + twice the diameter is no greater than 1,040mm, with no dimension exceeding 900mm.
• Other: Length + width + depth is no more than 900mm, with no dimension exceeding 600mm.
• Width: 70mm
• Depth: 25mm
• Length: 100mm

Post Mail Sizes: Parcel

• Maximum weight of 20kg.
• Dimensional weight calculated as (L x W x D) / 6,000 (all in cm). Use the greater of the physical and dimensional weight to determine price.

• Up to four family applications: €17.50.
• Standard 10-year Passport: €80.00.
• 5 year Passport (for ages up to 18 years): €30.00.
• Large Passport (66 page 10 year): €110.00.

• Write a 12-digit code on your mail.
• Drop mail in any postbox or post office for next-day delivery.
