Purpose

• To establish a uniform method for Aldine Fire & Rescue members to receive awards

Scope

• Applies to all Aldine Fire & Rescue members who meet the requirements and are in good standing with the District

Guidelines

• Three awards are granted by the District with distinct criteria for each

Awards and Criteria

Marla Buchardt Professional Leadership Award

• Presented to a person who shows loyalty and dedication to the department and fire and emergency services community
• Embodies strong devotion to family, tenacious spirit, and resolve to succeed despite adversity
• Recognizes and champions the contributions and historical significance of volunteers in the service

Aldine Fire & Rescue Employee of the Year Award

• Presented to a person who exhibits integrity and conduct necessary to keep fellow employees engaged, productive, and happy
• Understands the value of a positive attitude and the contagious nature of negativity
• Is dependable, punctual, and appreciative of workplace liberties
• Is flexible, task-oriented, and completes tasks accurately and timely
• Takes initiative and is not afraid to ask for help or say "I don't know, but I'm willing to learn"

Aldine Fire & Rescue Volunteer of the Year Award

• Presented to a person who best exemplifies positive characteristics of a volunteer member through a notable record of service, achievement, and selfless dedication
• Demonstrates strong dedication to the department, fire service, and community
• Goes beyond the normal call of duty and exemplifies the highest standards of volunteer fire service
