Active Duty Pay and Allowances
- Senior officer present afloat determines retention on active duty until the vessel returns to the Continental US (CONUS), if determined "service essential to the public interest."
- Basic pay is for active duty personnel.
- Absence on February 28th (non-leap year) results in a loss of pay for 3 days.
- Reserve Component members performing duty in a leap year earn 1 extra point.
- Reserve members separated before completing a contract receive 10% of 12 months of basic pay multiplied by years of service.

Pay Computation
