- pH: 7.41 (normal range: 7.35-7.45)
Respiratory Acidosis
- Characterized by high levels of CO2 in the blood
- pH levels below 7.35
- Can be caused by respiratory failure or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
Respiratory Alkalosis
- Characterized by low levels of CO2 in the blood
- pH levels above 7.45
- Can be caused by hyperventilation or anxiety attacks
