Refueling Procedure for A330-200/300
- Before refueling, engage the parking brake, place chocks behind the tires, and ensure the chocks do not touch the tires.
- With the ADIRU in NAV position, open the Refuel panel access door on the lower fuselage.
- Set the PoWeR SUPPLY to BATtery if needed.
- Conduct a Hi-Level test: Hi-level & overflow lights change state, CoCkPiT & END lights illuminate, and fuel quantity displays show all 8's for preselected and actual values.
- Increase (INC) the preselected value using the load switch, setting it to the total fuel quantity required.
- Verify refuel valve switches are in the normal and guarded position.
- Engage the mode select switch to REFUEL. Fuel quantity and ACTUAL values should increase.
- The END light illuminates steadily when refueling is complete.
- Ensure the actual and preselected values agree within ± 200 kg. A white cross should be visible on a black background, its absence suggests a potential issue with the tank venting system.
- Connect a bonding cable between the fuel tanker and a grounding point on the aircraft (nose or main gear), and another grounding cable from the aircraft to the ground.
- If the refueling process is aborted, information on system status is found in the FCMC REFUEL PARAMETERS menu on the MCDU.
Fuel Tank Drain (D/O)
- Each fuel tank is integrated into the aircraft's structure.
- To refuel, push and hold the plunger on the valve; fuel pressure from the tanker/pump opens the valve.
- Monitor fuel quantity with the standard indication system.
- Release the plunger to close the valve when the desired quantity is reached.
Mel/Deactivation - Refuel Isolation Valve Failure
- This failure can be addressed through a MEL (Minimum Equipment List).
Mel/Deactivation - Fuel Quantity Indication Failure
- The aircraft may be dispatched with unserviceable fuel quantity indications, as this condition can be managed using a MEL.
